Dubai and Abu Dhabi to witness festive fireworks
Residents and visitors of Dubai and Abu Dhabi can look forward to celebratory fireworks displays on the religious festival of Eid al Adha. Festive decorations will also grace the streets and shopping malls.
Festive fireworks will be displayed at Dubai Parks and Resorts from 27 June to 1 July and the Dubai Festival City Mall will be illuminated with fireworks on the second day of Eid Al Adha.
From 28-30 June, a 10-minute pyrotechnic show will be available at Abu Dhabi’s Yas Bay promenade, a popular family destination (from 9pm to 9:10pm).
Five-minute fireworks displays will light up the sky over Hudayriyat Island on 29 June at 9pm. On 28 June, a 10-minute fireworks display will delight residents and visitors to the Al Dhafra region.
In June 2023, working people in the United Arab Emirates are looking forward to a very long weekend – on the occasion of the Eid al Adha sacrifice festival. Eid al-Adha is expected to start on Wednesday 28 June and last until at least Friday 30 June.
Given that Araf Day would then fall on 27 June, UAE residents can already start planning for an almost week-long summer weekend. The exact dates of the holiday will be announced by the Moonwatching Committee.
Eid al-Adha, also known as Eid al-Fitr, is one of the main religious festivals of Muslims, reminding of man’s devotion to God and the mercy of the Almighty. The holiday marks the end of the Hajj, the annual pilgrimage to Mecca.
