Juventus Academy World Cup takes place in Piedmont
A celebration of colours, smiles and plenty of young players from around the world culminated in the Juventus Academy World Cup Final 2023, an incredible experience for the four teams representing Dubai.
With 71 teams from five continents, more than 800 players and 27 different nations, the tournament took place in Piedmont, at the fields of Souza, Ulx, Bardonecchia and Soze D’Ulx.
Juventus legend Claudio Marchisio, who was present at the opening of the tournament at the Allianz Stadium, expressed his satisfaction, saying: “For me, this event opens up important memories. I have followed the same path that many of you have followed in subsequent years. I was lucky enough to achieve this great dream and the advice I can give you is to chase your dream the same way you chase the ball on the field, with the same emotion and enthusiasm.”
All the Dubai teams performed exceptionally well, displaying excellent football skills, with the Under-12 team winning an epic final against a formidable Chilean team at the Continassa training centre, the official training base of Juventus.
The tournament’s top scorer was also Dubai’s Ryan, a member of the team since the age of four, who scored 10 goals, which were distributed across all matches. The team’s goalkeeper was also voted the best goalkeeper of the tournament. In addition, the most creative player on the team received a shoe signed by Paul Pogba.
The opening and closing ceremonies of the Juventus Academy World Cup took place at the Allianz stadium, Juventus FC’s home ground, in the presence of Juventus president Gianluca Ferrero and club youth legends Claudio Marchisio and Sebastian Giovinco. Giovinco is also a partner of the Juventus Academy in Toronto.
The Juventus Academy Dubai was recently voted second best sports organisation and best football academy in the Middle East at the SPIA Awards. With seven branches in Dubai and Sharjah, the academy organises various events including the Juventus Training Experience, Juventus Training Experience Elite, visits from Juventus legends (Trezeguet, Davids, Giovinco, Barzagli) and participation in the official DOFA City Football League organised by the Dubai Sports Council.
Juventus partners FFG Sports Management have also announced the launch of Juventus’ first coaching course outside Europe, which will take place in collaboration with the Dubai Sports Council in October.
