Mass inflow of Influencers in Dubai
Influencers and bloggers are flocking to Dubai en masse in search of lucrative new opportunities, including boosting their social media followers through partnerships with each other and brand partnerships.
According to Egyptian comedian Mohammed Tarek, with 2.5 million followers on Instagram and nearly 5 million on TikTok, Dubai has become the new Los Angeles, a city of dreams and entertainment where everyone can make their dreams come true.
Dubai’s broad networking opportunities with Influencers add to its appeal, and the UAE’s geographical location makes it easy for content producers to travel to Europe, Asia or anywhere in the Middle East in search of new sponsors, advertisers and useful contacts.
Statistics show that the UAE is now home to more than 25,000 Influencers with a social media audience of between 1,000 and 10 million followers. There are more and more people shooting videos right on the street in Dubai every day.
Comedy and fitness duo Stephanie Totolo and Nawaz Sharif, with 3 million subscribers on YouTube and more than 200,000 on Instagram, note that the influx of fitness bloggers has increased their ability to collaborate and share audiences. Alongside this, they complain that social media stars come to the gym with a camera crew and managers, making the room too crowded.
According to bloggers, Dubai is starting to take away from LA’s status as the centre of the film, fitness and influencers industry. Social media stars have also cited the UAE’s high level of security as one of the main positive characteristics attracting the wealthy and influential to Dubai.
