Bloom vegetable market launched in Dubai
Dubai Municipality (DM) has announced the opening of the largest indoor Bloom market for the sale of fresh fruit and vegetables. The trading area covers an area of 66,000 square metres and is located within the Dubai Fruit and Vegetable Market in the Al Aweer district.
According to Mohammed Faraidooni, Director of Markets at Dubai Municipality, the Bloom shopping area is one of the key DM projects, with the main aim of providing Dubai residents and visitors with the freshest fruits and vegetables. The market will feature imported products that cannot be found in other marketplaces, as well as fruits and vegetables from local farmers. In addition, the market will have a section with organic products.
Mr Faraidooni clarified that the new market will be an integral part of the existing market infrastructure and will not compete with it. The uniqueness of the Bloom trading zone is that it allows both ordinary consumers and businessmen to buy products at the most attractive prices.
The Bloom market is in great demand by sellers: the space for rent, located on the first floor of the building, is already filled almost 100%. The ground floor of the market will house three restaurants in addition to the retail rows. The basement of the building has a car park with 470 spaces for cars, and there is also a parking area with more than 200 spaces for trucks.
Mr Faraidooni shared Dubai Municipality’s future plans for the development of the market sector. One is to establish a delivery service through an app to order groceries. The second is to expand the range of products. Dubai Municipality has already hired an international consultant to make the development plan a reality as soon as possible.
