Armin van Buuren sets two records at Burj Khalifa

Legendary DJ Armin van Buuren set two world records with a 41-minute show on the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa skyscraper in Dubai. The performance took place on the 149th floor of the tower, which was transformed into a dynamic LED canvas.

Armin van Buuren received two entries in the Guinness Book of Records at once – for performing at the highest height and for the show on the largest LCD screen. The DJ combined music and visual prowess to create a unique show.

18 cameras were used to film the show, including 8 of them placed in the desert, providing panoramic footage. In addition, four advanced drones were flown to an altitude of 830 metres to give viewers a bird’s eye view of the show.

A total of 20 TB of digital data was recorded. The performance was an advertisement for UNTOLD, the largest electronic music festival to be held at Expo City Dubai in February 2024, which will reinforce Dubai’s status as a global entertainment centre.

Dubai’s iconic Burj Khalifa skyscraper has previously earned the title of the most popular attraction on the planet. About 17 million people visit the tower, located in the very centre of Dubai, every year.

This number is a record, according to the analytical website Switch On Business, which compiled the rating. The platform analysed the average number of visitors for 150 of the world’s most famous landmarks, as well as the number of internet searches.

The magnificent 828-metre-tall Burj Khalifa attracts almost 22 million searches on Google, and visitors bring it US$621 million in revenue per year.
