Gov Games spectators in Dubai have a chance to win a car
This year’s Gov Games, where officials compete for top honours, takes place at Dubai Festival City from 29 February to 3 March. Organisers stressed that spectators will also be able to compete for exciting prizes by taking part in games and quizzes held on site. Among the top prizes for visitors are several brand new cars.
Budur Ali, Communications Director at Gov Games Organising, said: “We have a few surprises for guests of the event as well. We have three Jeep cars for the spectators. So we are providing an opportunity for everyone to come and try their luck. We are also offering participants other activities where they can ask questions related to the games and win instant prizes.”
Marwan bin Essa, director of Gov Games, said: “The obstacles and mechanisms change at Gov Games every year, although the rules remain the same. This incentivises participants to improve their training strategies. We have seen large corporations come together to form teams and compete. If you go back to the first two events, we only had the public sector represented. Now the private sector is a major partner of ours as well.”
The competition has become the largest to date, with 194 teams participating in various categories. A notable addition to the line-up is the introduction of the Junior Gov Games category, aimed at participants between the ages of 10 and 13.
All participants will face a series of physically and mentally demanding challenges designed to demonstrate endurance and teamwork.
Significant cash prizes await the winners. First place teams in the adult categories will receive a grand prize of AED 500,000, while second and third places will receive AED 250,000 and AED 150,000 respectively.
The juniors also have prizes, with the first place team receiving AED 70 thousand, second place AED 56 thousand and third place AED 36 thousand.
