Dubai taxis equipped with interactive screens
Dubai taxis have been equipped with interactive screens with games, news and TV programmes and guides for passengers.
The innovative project, implemented by the Emirate’s Roads and Transport Authority, aims to improve the happiness of taxi users.
4,500 state-of-the-art interactive screens have already been installed in taxi taxis, offering passengers information on premium lifestyle, promotions and entertainment during the journey.
Back in 2022, only 250 Hala taxis were equipped with such screens. Hala’s fleet currently includes 12,000 vehicles driven by 21,000 drivers.
The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority earlier reminded distracted passengers – residents and visitors to the emirate – how they can return valuables left in taxi taxis.
According to the department, taxi drivers have already returned millions of dirhams worth of valuables to passengers. These include eyeglasses, wallets, smartphones, gold, diamonds, jewellery and large sums of cash.
Passengers have a 99.9 per cent chance of recovering forgotten items, including laptops and keys. To do so, simply leave a request on the S’hail mobile app.
The app allows you to plan your journey on Dubai’s public transport: metro, tram, taxi, buses or sea transport. It is available for download on Apple, Android and Huawei devices.
To contact Lost and Found, you need to provide full details of your journey: route, date and time. In addition, you can send a copy of the payment cheque. After that, the applicant will receive an SMS with a number that will help track the status of the report.
Once the item is found, the app will also send an SMS message and the number of the taxi driver who will return the items or valuables in person. According to the S’hail app, it will take 10 days to review the report, but items are usually returned within hours or days.
