Etihad launches Abu Dhabi Stopover programme
Etihad Airways and the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism have announced the launch of the Abu Dhabi Stopover programme. The exclusive promotion offers travellers flying via Abu Dhabi a free hotel stay during their stopover in the emirate.
When booking flights with Etihad, customers now have the option to add a stopover and select a hotel. Guests can stay at any of the hotels offered on the airline’s website, the duration of the complimentary stay is one or two nights.
Stopover packages are only available when booked directly on etihad.com. This unique opportunity will help visitors to the capital turn a short stopover into a truly memorable holiday.
The announcement was made at Arabian Travel Market following the signing of a memorandum of understanding between DCT Abu Dhabi’s Director General of Tourism Saleh Mohamed Al Geziri and Etihad CEO Antonoaldo Neves.
Mr Al Geziri said: “Our partners are integral to our shared mission to share the best of Abu Dhabi with travellers from around the world. Our joint Stopover programme with Etihad offers travellers an exciting introduction to the emirate.”
“This initiative will give guests an insight into the diverse options available here – from entertainment and culture to beach holidays – inspiring travellers to return and immerse themselves in the full spectrum of the Abu Dhabi experience,” added Mr Al Geziri.
Mr Antonoaldo Neves said: “Over the next year, we plan to attract more than 100,000 tourists to Abu Dhabi through our Stopover programme, and we are confident that once they have tasted the capital city, they will return here again. We are excited to work hand in hand with the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism to show the world what the emirate has to offer.”
