Esaad Card includes Carrefour now
Esaad discount cards, issued by the Dubai Police, will now be accepted in the Carrefour retail chain, their holders will receive a 10% discount on various goods and food products.
It should be noted that the Carrefour chain has more than 125 shops and hypermarkets in the United Arab Emirates, the network also has a loyalty programme SHARE, which provides customers with additional opportunities for savings.
Earlier, exclusive Esaad government-issued discount cards were given to holders of United Arab Emirates “golden” resident visas. These cards, which give access to numerous discounts on goods and services in 92 countries around the world, were previously available only to UAE government employees.
The discount cards are issued by the Dubai Police and can be obtained by holders of both five-year and ten-year UAE residency permits. The move is another measure towards improving the quality of life for the people of Dubai.
Residents of the United Arab Emirates, as previously learnt, are changing their priorities when it comes to spending. As market and consumer research group Toluna found out, consumers are prioritising budgets for essentials, including food and personal care products.
When their prices rise, spending on entertainment and luxury goods is correspondingly reduced. For example, 35% of respondents have reduced their consumption of luxury goods and services, 27% have reduced spending on restaurants and bars, and 34% have reduced their takeaway orders.
In turn, budgets for food and personal care products increased by 56% and 49% respectively. This shift is explained by the rising cost of living in the region. It is noted that 69% of consumers in the UAE have decided to forgo expensive purchases until the economy stabilises.
60% of UAE residents expect their financial situation to stabilise within the next three months. In addition, Emirati residents are confident that they spend more on their needs than residents of other countries. At the same time, 60 per cent of those surveyed in the UAE are satisfied with their lives.
