UAE to build stadiums on top of a mountain

Two Emirati football clubs – Kalba and Khorfakkan – will get stadiums on top of a mountain, the plans were announced by Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Member of the UAE Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.

The ruler praised the success of Sharjah clubs in the UAE ADNOC professional league for the 2023-2024 season and proposed a new stadium at 850 feet above sea level for the Kalba Club and a stadium at 900 feet for the Khorfakkan Club.

The initiative will help athletes train and prepare for championships in cooler and more comfortable conditions. On the mountain tops, the air temperature is 10 degrees lower, besides, there is no usual humidity.

It is worth recalling that in April 2024 in Dubai opened the world’s first and only theme park dedicated to the football club Real Madrid. Real Madrid World has become an addition to the entertainment complex and offers fans to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of one of the greatest football teams in the world.

The new pavilion, dedicated to football and basketball, features more than 40 original attractions and rides, including the region’s first wooden roller coaster and the world’s tallest ride.

The park consists of four zones: Celebration Plaza, Avenue Champions, Stars Universe and Sports Boulevard. The Avenue Champions interactive museum will introduce visitors to the club’s past, present and future; in Stars Universe you can test your ball skills by battling intergalactic opponents and competing in the Universe Cup. In Sports Boulevard you can enjoy restaurants and buy football-themed souvenirs.

Tickets to Real Madrid World Park are available online at AED 295 for children aged four and above. They can be purchased on site or online at www.dubaiparksandresorts.com. Children under three years old are free of charge.
