Dubai named the world’s most scenic city

Dubai has topped the list of the world’s most scenic cities, which become even more attractive to tourists as darkness falls, according to a study by travel company Travelbag.

The ranking analysed a combination of factors including Instagram hashtags, light and noise pollution levels, and safety ratings for solo strolls at night in 136 cities around the world.

On social networking site Instagram, Dubai at night (#dubaiatnight) has garnered more than 27,000 mentions on photos showcasing the emirate’s picturesque evening views. As night falls, Sheikh Zayed Highway turns into a glowing corridor surrounded by skyscrapers.

The Dubai Marina promenade is illuminated by the lights of luxury yachts, restaurants and high-rise buildings whose lights are also reflected in the water. Dubai has also been ranked 4th in the world for nightlife safety, so tourists can enjoy the night views without worry.

The city has a well-developed infrastructure, lit streets and public spaces, law enforcement and emergency services are quick to respond to calls, providing the necessary assistance. Strict laws and regulations ensure a low crime rate.
