New service for bus passengers launched in Dubai
The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has partnered with Swiftly to provide bus passengers with access to real-time transport location information. Using the RTA’s S’hail and Journey Planner smart apps, data on traffic jams, delays and service disruptions is now also available.
With the enhancements, Dubai residents will be able to plan their schedules as accurately as possible, knowing when the bus will arrive at the stop so they don’t have to wait too long or be late.
‘Our partnership with Swiftly aims to increase residents’ awareness of the real-time location of buses and possible delays due to road conditions, accidents or other external factors. This collaboration will allow for more accurate bus arrivals so passengers know when they need to get to their stop,’ said Ahmed Bahrozian, CEO of RTA’s Public Transport Agency.
Jonathan Simkin, co-founder and CEO of Swiftly, said: ‘We are delighted to partner with the RTA to help improve the passenger experience and provide employees with modern tools to work efficiently. The partnership has already led to significant results with a 24% improvement in estimated time of arrival (ETA) accuracy. And this is just the beginning. We look forward to expanding our work with the RTA.’
