DET publishes festive calendar for 2025
Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism has unveiled a calendar of festivals and sales for 2025. The programme will include 14 major events, including cultural, entertainment and retail events.
As you know, the emirate is hosting the Winter Shopping Festival until 12 January 2025. The event gives Dubai residents and visitors the chance to win mega prizes and indulge in lavish shopping sprees.
It also includes entertainment, live concerts and shows for visitors. During the last weekend of the festival, more than 3,000 shops will be offering discounts on goods up to 90 per cent off.
Chinese New Year, also known as the Spring Festival, will begin on 24 January 2025 and run until 2 February. Festivities will take place across the city with entertainment, fireworks, special promotions and exclusive offers at restaurants.
Traditionally, Dubai will host Dubai Fashion Season fashion shows in spring and autumn, showcasing summer and winter collections. Shoppers will have the opportunity to purchase the latest fashions at a number of shops.
From 28 February to 6 April, Dubai will celebrate Ramadan and Eid Al Fitr. The city will come alive with public events, light installations, night markets and a huge number of traditional marquees. On Eid al Fitr days, there will be grand sales.
Dubai will host the Dubai Games digital sports festival from 25 April to 11 May, with an educational Game Expo scheduled for 7 and 8 May. In May and November 2025, Dubai residents and visitors will be treated to three days of super sales with discounts of up to 90 per cent on a range of products including clothing, footwear, accessories, electronics, furniture, home appliances and food.
The Eid al Adha holiday will take place from 2 to 8 June with numerous discounts, fireworks and special offers at restaurants. From 27 June to 31 August 2025, Dubai will host the Dubai Summer Surprises festival.
In addition, Dubai will hold sales for school children – before the start of the school season – from 4 to 28 August 2025. The Dubai Home Festival home furniture and appliances sale will take place from 3 to 16 October, while the Diwali Festival of Lights will take place from 17 to 26 October.
From 1 to 30 November 2025, Dubai will host the annual Dubai Fitness Challenge, which will include iconic events such as the Dubai Run Challenge, Dubai Cycling Challenge and Dubai Rowing Challenge.
Union Day celebrations will take place from 1 to 3 December 2025 and will include special shopping offers, fireworks and various activities and entertainment across Dubai.
