UAE releases guide to New Year’s Eve fireworks venues
The UAE is gearing up for the New Year 2025 with grand fireworks displays and celebrations taking place across the emirates. Dubai, home to the famous Burj Khalifa tower, is expected to be the most attended fireworks display. Special free viewing areas in the centre of Dubai will open at 5pm on a first-come, first-served basis, while main roads will close from 6pm. For those who prefer a more organised event, Burj Park will offer a New Year’s Eve celebration with live music and great views of the fireworks and fountain.
Atlantis, The Palm will host Lionel Richie, who will delight guests with his hits at the New Year’s Eve Gala Dinner. At White Beach, DJ Andrea Oliva will create a festive atmosphere and Atlantis The Royal will host a rooftop party with DJ Kaz James. Expo City Dubai also has a fireworks display planned, starting with a children’s party at 21:00.
In Old Dubai, Al Seef will offer an Arabian-style fireworks display, while Bluewaters Island and JBR Beach will offer great views of the New Year’s lights. In Hatta, fireworks will illuminate the Hatta sign, while in Global Village, New Year’s Eve fireworks will rumble seven times in a sign of international unity.
In Abu Dhabi, the Corniche waterfront will host a light show and Yas Bay has two fireworks displays planned – one for families at 9pm and the traditional one at midnight. Hudayriyat Island will also host a fireworks display to symbolise the unity of the UAE. The Liwa Desert will feature fireworks at the festival, while at Al Wathba, six thousand drones will create an unforgettable spectacle at the heritage festival.
Sharjah will return to the tradition of fireworks at Al Majaz Waterfront, while Khorfakkan and Al Heera beaches are also scheduled to host festive shows. In Ras Al Khaimah, where two Guinness records were set last year, a grand fireworks display is again expected to take place on the waterfront from Marjan Island to Al Hamra Village.
Fireworks will also take place at Umbrella Beach in Fujairah, while in Umm Al Quwain at Al Khor Waterfront, families will be able to enjoy the festivities and fireworks at midnight. Each emirate will offer unique New Year’s Eve experiences, creating an unforgettable festive atmosphere.
