Dubai Announces Changes for Ramadan: Transport, Parking, and Toll Adjustments
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai has unveiled the changes residents and visitors can expect during the holy month of Ramadan. The adjustments will affect parking hours, toll road tariffs, and public transportation schedules, ensuring smooth mobility throughout the emirate during this special time.
During Ramadan, both the Red and Green Metro lines will operate from 5:00 AM to midnight from Monday to Thursday and on Saturdays. On Fridays, the metro will run from 5:00 AM to 1:00 AM, while on Sundays, services will be available from 8:00 AM to midnight.
The Dubai Tram will operate from 6:00 AM to 1:00 AM from Monday to Saturday and from 9:00 AM to 1:00 AM on Sundays. The RTA has urged passengers to check the updated schedules for buses and marine transport via the S’hail app or the RTA website for the latest information.
Paid parking in Dubai will be divided into two intervals during Ramadan: from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM and from 8:00 PM to midnight, from Monday to Saturday. Parking will be free from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on weekdays and throughout the entire day on Sundays. Multi-level parking facilities will remain operational 24/7.
Toll road fees will also see changes during Ramadan. On weekdays, the peak hours from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM will incur a fee of 6 dirhams, while off-peak hours from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM and from 5:00 PM to 2:00 AM the following day will cost 4 dirhams. From 2:00 AM to 7:00 AM, Monday through Saturday, toll roads will be free of charge. On Sundays, the fee will be 4 dirhams from 7:00 AM to 2:00 AM, with free access from 2:00 AM to 7:00 AM.
The RTA has also updated the operating hours of its customer service centers, which can be checked on their official website. Residents are encouraged to stay informed about any further updates to ensure a hassle-free experience during Ramadan.
These changes reflect Dubai’s commitment to accommodating the needs of its residents and visitors during the holy month, ensuring convenience and ease of travel while observing Ramadan traditions.
