Dubai Colleagues Win $1 Million in Dubai Duty Free Draw
In a life-changing turn of events, ten colleagues from Dubai have become the proud winners of $1 million in the latest Dubai Duty Free draw. The group, who have been participating in the lottery for several years, took turns pooling money to purchase tickets. Their patience and teamwork finally paid off when one of their tickets hit the jackpot.
The winning ticket was bought online on February 19 by 45-year-old Prasad Sivadasan, an Indian expatriate and systems engineer at Seven Seas Technologies. A father of two, Mr. Sivadasan has been living in Dubai for 20 years. Overwhelmed with gratitude, he expressed his thanks to Dubai Duty Free and shared that all his colleagues were thrilled with the win. Mr. Sivadasan is the 246th Indian to win $1 million in the Millennium Millionaire program since its inception in 1999.
Following the main draw, the Finest Surprise raffle awarded additional luxury prizes, including high-end cars and motorcycles. Among the lucky winners was 38-year-old Shahul Hameed, an Indian IT manager based in Abu Dhabi, who won a BMW M850i Gran Coupe. Mr. Hameed, who purchased his ticket on February 3, has been participating in Dubai Duty Free draws for over a decade. He joyfully remarked that dreams do come true and expressed his delight at finally winning.
Another winner, 47-year-old Iranian expatriate Adel Ranjbar, took home a BMW 740i M Sport. A resident of Dubai, Mr. Ranjbar works at a shoe store and has been trying his luck in the raffle for eight years. He shared that winning the car had been a long-held dream, and he was overjoyed to see it come true.
Meanwhile, 48-year-old Indian expatriate Kamal Tahasil Shaikh won an Indian Scout Bobber Limited Plus Tech motorcycle. Mr. Shaikh, a regional manager at FedEx, has been participating in the draw for ten years. He expressed hope that this win would be the first step toward a future Millennium Millionaire jackpot.
Adding to the list of winners, 36-year-old Myanmar national Htet Pine-Oo, a Sharjah resident, won a BMW R12 motorcycle. Mr. Pine-Oo, who works for a retail company in Dubai, made history as the first Myanmar citizen to win a motorcycle since the prize was introduced to the Finest Surprise program in 2002.
