Sharjah to Welcome Thrilling New Adventure Park in Khor Fakkan
Sharjah’s Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) has announced the launch of a cutting-edge adventure park in Khor Fakkan, set to become a premier destination for outdoor enthusiasts and thrill-seekers. Slated to open by the end of 2024, the park will feature adrenaline-pumping attractions such as ziplines, high-speed swings, hiking and cycling trails, and the innovative “Stobel Gun” rides, catering to both tourists and residents eager for dynamic recreational experiences.
The project aligns with Shurooq’s broader strategy to expand Sharjah’s hospitality and tourism offerings. Known for managing acclaimed destinations like the serene Moon Retreat and the vibrant Al Majaz Waterfront, the authority currently oversees five hotels and has ambitious plans to open three more in the coming years. Ahmed Obaid Al Qaseer, CEO of Shurooq, emphasized the organization’s focus on curating “unique, experience-driven stays” rather than merely offering accommodations.
Among the upcoming ventures in the adventure park is a safari-themed hotel linked to Sharjah Safari, the largest safari park outside Africa, and a striking 45-room mountain hotel nestled in Khor Fakkan’s rugged terrain. These developments aim to seamlessly blend luxury with the emirate’s natural and cultural heritage.
Shurooq is also prioritizing the transformation of Mleiha, a region steeped in archaeological significance, into a major cultural and historical hub. Home to artifacts dating back over 200,000 years, the Mleiha National Park spans 34 square kilometers and offers visitors immersive opportunities to explore ancient civilizations through guided tours, fossil exhibits, and desert adventures.
“Our vision extends beyond infrastructure—we’re crafting narratives that connect people to Sharjah’s rich past and dynamic present,” stated Al Qaseer. With its bold mix of adventure, heritage, and innovation, Shurooq continues to position Sharjah as a rising star in the global tourism landscape.
