UAE Resident Wins Million-Dirham Lottery Prize
A Filipino expatriate named Beauregard Lim has become the second UAE resident to win a one-million-dirham prize in the UAE Lottery. The life-changing news came at a time when Lim was grappling with persistent stress due to financial difficulties.
Hailing from Manila, Mr. Lim shared that he had been feeling overwhelmed in recent months because of money troubles. Although he had sought help from his family, he knew deep down that he needed to find a solution on his own. On the night before his win, he dreamt of his mother’s smile, and the next morning, he received a notification on his phone: “Congratulations.” At first, he couldn’t believe his eyes, but after verifying the information, he realized he had become a millionaire.
Since the launch of the lottery in November 2024, this marks the second time such a substantial cash prize has been won. Mr. Lim, who has lived in the UAE since 2004 and works in the freight and logistics industry, expressed that he now feels a significant sense of relief. “This money brings me peace. The stress I’ve been carrying has finally disappeared,” he said.
Following his win, the lucky winner plans to support his family and invest in his business. He also aims to fulfill a promise he made to his mother: “I always said ‘yes’ when my family needed help. When my savings ran out, I started saying ‘no,’ and it hurt me deeply. Now, I don’t have to turn them down anymore,” he shared joyfully.
The lottery’s grand prize of 100 million dirhams remains unclaimed. According to a representative from The Game, the company managing the UAE Lottery, it’s only a matter of time before someone wins the jackpot. Currently, the odds of winning the top prize stand at 1 in over 8 million.
Mr. Lim, now a millionaire, stated that he will continue participating in the lottery but emphasized the importance of responsible gaming. “If you have extra money, play. But always prioritize your family’s needs first. Life should be about balance,” he added.
The next UAE Lottery draw is scheduled for March 22, 2025.
