Dubai has taken a major step toward strengthening community bonds with the launch of My Dubai Communities, a digital platform introduced by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and UAE Minister of Defence. The initiative, unveiled on April 3, 2025 as part of the UAE’s Year of Community, aims to connect citizens, residents, and visitors through shared passions, hobbies, and activities.
The platform, accessible at mydubaicommunities.com and promoted through dedicated social media channels (@mydubaicommunities on Instagram and TikTok), serves as a centralized hub for Dubai’s diverse population. With over 100 interest-based groups already available, users can explore communities centered around sports, arts, culture, wellness, professional networking, and more.
Sheikh Hamdan emphasized that the initiative builds on the success of the original #MyDubai campaign, launched in 2014 to showcase the emirate’s vibrant lifestyle. “The true measure of a city’s success is not limited to its architecture and infrastructure alone, but also its vibrant soul and the strength of its community bonds,” he stated.
The platform aligns with the Dubai Social Agenda 33, which seeks to position the city among the world’s top three in quality of life. By fostering inclusivity and collaboration, My Dubai Communities supports Dubai’s reputation as a global hub for living, working, and tourism.
Helal Saeed Almarri, Director General of Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism, highlighted the platform’s role in reinforcing Dubai’s multicultural identity: “This initiative offers a seamless gateway for individuals to engage in diverse communities, reflecting Dubai’s rich tapestry of cultures and experiences.”
