Dubai Expands Retail Landscape with New and Upcoming Malls

Dubai’s retail sector continues to thrive, with new shopping destinations opening and existing ones undergoing major upgrades. These developments reinforce the emirate’s position as a global hub for shopping, dining, and entertainment.

One of the latest additions is Nad Al Sheba Mall, a community-focused retail destination spanning 500,000 square feet. Opened in April 2025, the mall houses over 100 stores, restaurants, and sports and entertainment facilities. Operating hours are from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM on weekdays, extending until midnight on weekends.

Meanwhile, The District, a newly launched extension of the world-famous Dubai Mall, debuted on March 1. Situated near the Dubai Ice Rink and Level Shoes, this expansion introduces 65 additional retail and dining outlets. With over 1,200 stores, two major department stores, and hundreds of restaurants, Dubai Mall remains a top destination for shoppers.

Another upcoming project is the Sobha Hartland Mall, set to open by 2026 with an investment of AED 210 million. The development will feature 35 retail units and more than 10 restaurants across 115,000 square feet of leasable space.

Mall of the Emirates, one of Dubai’s most iconic shopping centers, is undergoing a significant renovation. Upon completion, it will introduce 100 new stores, a wellness club, the New Covent Garden Theatre, an expanded food court, and additional leisure spaces.

Looking further ahead, Dubai Square—a futuristic retail megaproject by Emaar in Dubai Creek Harbour—is set to become the second-largest mall in the city after Dubai Mall. The complex will feature an art district, a water adventure park, and the largest Chinatown in the Middle East, all seamlessly connected to the upcoming Dubai Creek Tower.

With these expansions, Dubai continues to redefine luxury retail and entertainment, offering visitors and residents an ever-evolving shopping experience.
