Dubai Announces Free Public Parking for Eid al-Adha Holiday

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has confirmed that public parking across the emirate will be free for four days during the upcoming Eid al-Adha holiday. The exemption will run from Thursday, June 5th to Sunday, June 8th, 2025, coinciding with the official public holidays declared for the religious celebration. Drivers should note that this applies only to standard public parking spaces – multi-level parking facilities will remain paid throughout the holiday period.

Complementing the parking announcement, the RTA released adjusted schedules for public transportation. The Dubai Metro will operate extended hours from 5:00 AM until 1:00 AM the following day between Wednesday, June 4th and Saturday, June 7th. Similarly, the Dubai Tram will run from 6:00 AM to 1:00 AM the next day during the same four-day period.

Passengers are advised to check real-time schedules using the RTA’s S’hail mobile app, as several bus routes will see temporary modifications. Notably, the E100 bus service from Al Ghubaiba station to Abu Dhabi will be suspended from June 4th to 8th. Travellers should instead use the E101 bus departing from Ibn Battuta Metro Station. Additionally, the E102 bus will offer a direct connection from Al Jafiliya station to Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi, bypassing the Ibn Battuta and Mussafah stops during these dates.

Vehicle owners should plan accordingly as vehicle testing centers across Dubai will be closed from June 5th to 7th. Limited centers including Tasjeel Al Tawar, AutoPro Al Mankhool, Tasjeel Al Awir, Al Yalayis, and Shamil Muhaisnah will reopen on Sunday, June 8th. Full services at all centers, encompassing both documentation processing and vehicle inspections, will resume on Monday, June 9th, 2025. These measures aim to facilitate smooth travel and celebrations during one of the most significant holidays in the Islamic calendar.
