Emirates Signs Sponsorship Deal with FC Bayern Munich
Dubai’s flagship airline, Emirates, has entered into a significant long-term sponsorship agreement with German football powerhouse FC Bayern Munich, solidifying its presence in European football. The seven-year partnership, commencing at the start of the 2025/2026 season and running through the 2031/2032 season, designates Emirates as a Platinum Partner of the record-breaking Bundesliga club.
This high-level sponsorship grants Emirates extensive brand visibility at Bayern’s home ground, the Allianz Arena. The Emirates logo will feature prominently around the stadium and on LED boards during matches, reaching a global audience of millions. Beyond pitch-side branding, the comprehensive agreement includes exclusive access to premium match tickets and hospitality packages for Emirates, along with a dedicated Emirates corporate box within the stadium.
The partnership extends to marketing rights, allowing Emirates to utilize images of FC Bayern Munich’s star players, including renowned figures like goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, striker Harry Kane, and rising talent Jamal Musiala. The Emirates brand will also be highly visible during the club’s press conferences, interviews, and various official events, leveraging Bayern’s immense global popularity, which boasts over 140 million fans worldwide.
Sir Tim Clark, President of Emirates Airline, emphasized that the deal transcends pure commercial interests. “For Emirates, this is more than just a sponsorship; it’s an opportunity to deepen our ties with Germany and unite the values of sport and our brand,” he stated. Clark highlighted football’s unique power to unite people globally and expressed Emirates’ commitment to building long-term relationships with the club’s vast fanbase.
Michael Diederich, FC Bayern Munich’s Deputy Chairman, welcomed Emirates as a strategic partner. He noted that the collaboration will significantly support the club in achieving its sporting objectives and expanding its international reach. Diederich pointed to Emirates’ established track record as a reliable partner for elite football clubs across Europe, stating, “Emirates has long been actively involved in supporting football in Europe and is a reliable partner for many of the world’s leading clubs.”
The FC Bayern Munich deal reinforces Emirates’ well-established strategy of major sports sponsorships. The airline’s logo already adorns the kits of other European giants including Real Madrid, AC Milan, and Arsenal. Furthermore, Emirates holds the naming rights to Arsenal’s home stadium, Emirates Stadium. Beyond football, the airline maintains significant sponsorship commitments in cricket, golf, rugby, and tennis, underlining its global commitment to supporting elite sports. This latest partnership with one of football’s most successful and recognizable institutions marks a major expansion of Emirates’ sporting portfolio.
