Hatta Reopens with New Adventures in the UAE Mountains

The popular tourism destination of Hatta has officially reopened for its eighth season, welcoming visitors back to its stunning mountain landscape located just 90 minutes from Dubai. The area has unveiled new attractions and upgraded infrastructure, reinforcing its status as a premier adventure and nature getaway.

Adventure seekers can explore a network of newly mapped mountain biking trails designed for various skill levels. At the Hatta Wadi Hub, guests can experience a range of activities including zorbing, axe throwing, rock climbing, rope courses, and zip-lining. New additions this season feature a dedicated children’s zone, an archery range, and spear throwing.

For those seeking a more relaxed experience, Hatta offers kayaking on its serene dam lake, sunrise and sunset yoga sessions, and guided horseback riding through scenic trails. Cultural and historical sites have also reopened, including the Hatta Dam Viewpoint, the Hatta Heritage Village, Hatta Hill Park with its panoramic tower, and a bee-keeping discovery center.

A standout attraction remains the seven-kilometer hiking trail leading to the 16-meter-high glowing “Hatta” sign, a favorite for photographers and nature lovers. Dining options range from traditional Emirati cuisine at Tanoor and Al Hajarian restaurants to food trucks and casual dam-side cafes.

Accommodations cater to diverse preferences, including the JA Hatta Fort Hotel, eco-friendly Terra Cabins, private pool villas, and campsites complete with fire pits. Hatta is accessible by car via the E102 highway or by public transportation. Regular bus services—H02 and E16 from Dubai Mall and Sabkha Station—and the Hatta Express bus run at two-hour intervals. An affordable Hop-On Hop-Off bus service operates within Hatta for just AED 2 per stop.

Visitors are advised to bring warm clothing for cooler mountain evenings and to prepare for occasional limited mobile network coverage, ensuring a comfortable and well-equipped visit to this revitalized mountain retreat.
