Sharjah Police recover Dh500,000 in stolen valuables within three hours

Sharjah Police recovered stolen valuables worth nearly Dh500,000 and arrested the suspects within just three hours of receiving a burglary report.

The theft took place at the home of an athlete who was outside the UAE attending a training camp. Police were informed that the property, located in one of Sharjah’s residential areas, had been broken into while its owner was abroad.

Specialist officers from the Criminal Investigation Department were immediately sent to the scene. Investigators conducted a forensic examination of the property while gathering evidence, following leads and launching an intensive search for those responsible.

The rapid investigation led officers to identify and arrest the suspects. All of the stolen belongings, estimated to be worth around Dh500,000, were recovered in record time.

The operation highlights the speed and coordination of Sharjah Police’s investigative teams. The force said protecting residents, their property and personal belongings remains one of its highest priorities, including when homeowners are travelling outside the country.

Police also reminded residents to take additional precautions before leaving for a holiday or extended trip. Doors and windows should be securely locked, while surveillance cameras and alarm systems can provide an extra layer of protection.

Residents were also advised not to publicly share travel dates or detailed holiday plans on social media, as this information could reveal that a home has been left unattended.

The case ended with the suspects in custody and the athlete’s valuables fully recovered — less than three hours after the initial report was received.
