DEWA opens new distribution stations in 2021
The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has commissioned 1,310 new 11kV distribution stations across Dubai between 1 January and 31 December 2021. This is part of an effort to create a modern infrastructure that meets growing demand and meets customer needs. These stations are mainly located in the Mohammed Bin Rashid Gardens, Airport City, Wadi Al Safa and Al Yafra 2 areas. The number of man-hours worked at these stations amounted to 601,917 hours in accordance with the highest standards of quality, efficiency and safety.

Rashid Bin Humaidan, DEWA executive vice-president for power distribution, said the total number of 33kV medium voltage distribution stations in operation has reached 79 stations and the number of 11kV medium voltage stations has reached 41,722. DEWA continues its efforts to carry out the work as planned, taking all precautions to limit the spread of COVID-19 and to ensure that electricity and water supplies meet the highest standards of availability, reliability and responsibility.
