Mansoor bin Mohammed opens Intersec 2022
His Highness Sheikh Mansoor Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Border Crossing Point Security Council, today opened the 23rd Intersec Exhibition, the world’s leading event for emergency services, safety and security, at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
Held from 16-18 January under the theme “Bringing the world’s leading industry professionals together to secure and protect future generations”, the event features over 500 speakers as well as hundreds of exhibitors from around the world showcasing products and solutions for fire, security, cyber security, safety and emergency services.
His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed toured the Intersec 2022 exhibition accompanied by His Excellency Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director General of Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism. His Highness Sheikh Mansoor made his first stop at the Dubai Police stand, where he was briefed on the police’s best practices in security services and the use of the latest smart technology, as well as its efforts to provide innovative services to the public through smart police stations.
His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed then visited the Dubai Security Industry Regulatory Agency (SIRA) booth, where he was briefed on its role in ensuring the highest level of safety and security by implementing security systems and services in line with international best practices. His Highness was also briefed on the SIRA Security-X programme, which uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to assess security consultants, engineers and security officers.
His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed also visited the Dubai Civil Defence Authority’s stand and was introduced to the agency’s innovative technologies used in emergency preparedness and response to protect members of society, infrastructure and vital sectors.
As part of his trip to Intersec 2022, His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed toured the German pavilion, where he was briefed on innovations offered by German companies in the field of emergency services, safety and security. His Highness also toured the South Korean pavilion, where he learned about cutting-edge security solutions and state-of-the-art technologies on display in security risk management, cyber attacks and cybersecurity.
The tour included visits to pavilions in the Czech Republic and France, where innovative biometric solutions for protecting the identity of users are on display. Microfibre optic sensors used for infrastructure monitoring and maintenance, thermal imaging applications as well as firefighting systems are also on display.
The 23rd edition of the trade fair features a packed programme that will include some of the industry’s most important discussions.
Intersec 2022 will attract renowned international speakers from the public and private sectors, including General (R) Sir Nick Carter, former head of the British Armed Forces; Sir Alex Younger, former head of the MI6 secret intelligence service; and FC, a renowned ethical hacker who will be making his first regional appearance.
Confirming Intersec’s strategic importance to the UAE, official sponsors include Dubai Police, Dubai Civil Defence, Security Industry Regulatory Agency (SIRA), Dubai Municipality and the UAE Cyber Security Council.
