Dubai beaches to face transformation
Dubai Municipality has announced plans to further improve the city’s beaches, which are considered one of the main tourist attractions. The project will be completed as early as December 2022.
According to the municipality, Al Mamzar Corniche, Jumeirah 1 and Jumeirah 3 beaches will be renovated, while Umm Suqeim I beach will be expanded and its area will increase. The beaches will get a new sand fill and the breakwaters will be upgraded.
Dubai is simply designed for a leisurely seaside holiday:
Sunset Beach, also known as Umm Suqeim, boasts proximity to one of the main symbols of Dubai, the Burj Al Arab Hotel and Spa. This beach is considered one of the most beautiful in the Emirate. Here you can go for a morning run, take an evening stroll whilst admiring the sunset over the Arabian Gulf, read a book or just take a nap.
Kite Beach is Dubai’s most sporty beach and the meeting point for all kitesurfers. Try your hand at beach volleyball, paddleboarding or kayaking. In addition to the water fun, there is a well-equipped skate park, trampolines and a playground for the little ones by the beach. You can have lunch at one of the beach restaurants and cafes, like our favourite Salt Café, which makes the best bif sliders in town.
Black Palace Beach gets its name from its proximity to one of the royal residences. The beach is considered a secret as not everyone knows the way. The calm waters and stunning sunsets overlooking Palm Jumeirah and the Burj Al Arab, are sure to please. It is the best place to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the Dubai city.
Al Mamzar Beach has five wonderfully landscaped beaches surrounded by neatly trimmed green lawns, pedestrian areas and cycle paths. Three family-friendly swimming pools spread over 106 hectares. Shaded barbecue areas, landscaped playgrounds and lagoons are available for a small fee. Sun umbrellas are provided on the beaches.
