Kite Beach becomes a giant fitness zone
Dubai’s popular Kite Beach has been transformed into a giant fitness zone for the annual Dubai Fitness Challenge sports and wellness festival. The DP World Fitness Village Kite Beach operates from 07:00 to 23:00 on weekends and from 15:00 to 23:00 on weekdays, offering hundreds of activities and classes for visitors of all ages.
Group exercise classes are held on the main stage, rowing classes are held in the Aviv Tower and football, basketball and volleyball can be played on the multifunctional “Sports Society” court. In addition, a gym, padel court, children’s fitness centre, cricket ground and entertainment centre Dubai Chamber Aqua Parks have been erected right on the beach. All of these facilities will welcome guests until November 27.
The renowned Dubai Fitness Challenge, a fitness and wellness festival, kicked off in Dubai on 29 October and will run until 27 November 2022. Residents of the Emirate are being encouraged to exercise daily for 30 days at a pace of 30 minutes a day.
The initiative, spearheaded by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, aims to move the emirate closer to its vision of becoming the healthiest city on the planet. Not only does the festival make people healthier, it also helps develop Dubai’s sports infrastructure.
This year’s festival will include the Dubai Cycling Challenge (November 6) and the Dubai Challenge Running, which will offer thousands of health lovers the chance to run along the emirate’s central highway, the Sheikh Zayed Highway.
