Vertical Forest to appear in Dubai
A “Vertical Forest” – paired skyscrapers with thousands of trees and shrubs – may be built in Dubai. The project was announced by the Italian company Stefano Boeri Architetti. Two high-rise buildings, shaped like the letter V, will have special planting areas. The conical towers will be 190 m and 150 m high.
At least 2,600 trees and 27,000 shrubs as well as a number of greenhouses and hydroponic gardens are to be planted on their façades. In addition to these, residents will be able to stroll along green balconies and terraces. Vertical Forest seems to be a great project for Dubai people.
Together with the standard wastewater recycling system, the houses will have a water desalination system. The buildings will be supplied with electricity from a photovoltaic system capable of producing 5,100 kWh of clean energy.
Earlier, Dubai announced the construction of the world’s tallest residential skyscraper – a more than 100-storey lozenge-shaped spire hyper-tower that will house two- and three-bedroom residences.
The world’s tallest residential complex will be a joint project of local developer Binghatti and Swiss watch brand Jacob & Co, and will be called Burj Binghatti Jacob & Co Residences. The project will be situated in the ultra-luxury category and will be located in the heart of Dubai’s Business Bay district.
In addition to the residential units, the building will feature a panoramic swimming pool, a luxurious spa and a gym. A dedicated team of concierges will offer nannies, bodyguards, drivers and personal chefs.
