Burj Khalifa announces New Year show

Dubai’s Burj Khalifa skyscraper is going to set new world records on New Year’s Eve. For the New Year’s Eve spectacle, the facade and even the night sky will be turned into the world’s largest laser display, Emaar confirmed.

It is the 828-metre tower that will be the centrepiece of the laser show, and the beams promise to cover the longest distance ever recorded. Burj Khalifa will be transformed into a shining beacon of hope, happiness and harmony.

Of course, guests are also treated to a traditional New Year’s Eve fireworks display. Since 2010 the famous pyrotechnic show has been an integral part of the UAE’s world-famous New Year celebrations, and the coming of 2023 will be no exception.

It is noted that the Dubai Fountain, located at the foot of the skyscraper, will perform a festive light and music dance on New Year’s Eve. Emaar promises to release further details closer to the date of the event.

The northern emirate of Ras Al Khaimah has already announced new 12-minute fireworks on the upcoming New Year’s Eve, which will allow it to make another entry in the Guinness Book of World Records.

This year’s dazzling fireworks displays are expected to be musical, featuring pyrodrons, nano lights, colours and shapes charged to electronic rhythms.

The light and music spectacle will be seen on the 4.7km promenade between Al Marjan Island and the Al Hamra Village quarter. Last year Ras Al Khaimah already set a world record with a grand fireworks display that involved drones.
