Supreme Achievement Award 2022 goes to DEWA

The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) received the Supreme Achievement Award 2022 from the British Safety Council, which is considered the world’s most prestigious health, safety and environmental award. This award was given in recognition of DEWA winning the Globe of Honour for environmental protection and the Sword of Honour for health and safety for 11 consecutive years. In 2022, DEWA received the Globe of Honour for the 11th time and the Sword of Honour for the 15th time.

H.E. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, CEO of DEWA, received the award at DEWA headquarters. The ceremony was attended by Dr Yousef Al Akraf, executive vice president for business support and human resources at DEWA; Zaal Bin Zaal, vice president for supply chain management, quality, health, safety and environment; Nada Butti Alswaidi, deputy senior manager for environmental protection; and Dr Marcell Griff, deputy senior manager for health and safety.

Our staff are trained and qualified to the highest international standards in health, safety and environment. We strive to organise information and training campaigns to keep employees and partners abreast of the latest systems and best practices in health and safety. DEWA implements smart programmes and systems that promote sustainability, productivity, health and safety using the latest disruptive technologies and applications of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. DEWA actively ensures the health and safety of its employees in the workplace and provides them with quality solutions and the latest technology and tools to help them perform field tasks easily and smoothly in accordance with the highest international standards,” said Al Tayer.

Dr Yousef Al-Akraf said that DEWA adopts an integrated management systems policy and aims to effectively implement quality, health, safety and environmental management systems. This helps DEWA deliver electricity and water services to the highest standards of affordability, sustainability, efficiency and quality, while implementing the best standards of health and safety as well as resource sustainability.
