UAE’s National Day celebration at DEWA’s pavilion

The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) celebrated the UAE’s 50th National Day at its pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai. The celebrations were attended by a large number of visitors to Expo 2020.

The celebrations at the pavilion included colourful lights in the shape of the UAE flag and traditional performances by the Emirati band Al Harbiya. Arabic coffee, dates and local dishes were also served at the pavilion. Multimedia screens displayed historical images, the UAE flag and DEWA’s achievements in supporting national efforts, especially in the transition to renewable and clean energy.

DEWA celebrated National Day at its headquarters and some of its branches last week. The celebrations included various heritage activities. DEWA also launched an internal microsite with information on the founding fathers, the UAE’s major achievements over the past fifty years, information about Hatta and other national issues. Online competitions were also held on National Day. Winners received prizes, including 50 tickets to Expo 2020.

DEWA invites the public to visit its pavilion at Expo 2020 in Dubai for a unique experience and to learn about its key projects, smart services and innovative initiatives, especially in the field of clean and renewable energy. Visitors can also learn about DEWA’s efforts to use fourth industrial revolution applications to transform utilities and become the world’s first digital utility.
