RTA announces new working hours

The Dubai Government has published the information that the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced new opening hours at offices and service delivery centres across the emirate, in line with the Dubai Government’s decision to change the opening hours to align with the new federal government system. The implementation of the new official working system will begin on Monday, January 3, 2022.

Working hours at the RTA main offices are Monday to Friday, with a day off on Saturday and Sunday. Opening hours are from 07:30 am to 03:30 pm, except on Fridays, where opening hours are from 07:30 am to 12:00 pm (noon).

RTA service centres (technical testing centres) shall observe a full working week from Sunday to Thursday, as at present, and Saturday will be a public holiday. However, on Friday these centres will be open from 04:00 pm to 09:00 pm.

Monday to Thursday RTA customers service centres opening hours will start at 08:00 am and end at 07:30 pm, as at present. Saturday and Sunday will be weekly public holidays. On Friday, these centres will be open from 08:00 am to 12:00 pm (noon).

The Dubai Metro Red and Green lines will be open Monday to Thursday from 05:00am to 01:15am (next day). On Friday and Saturday, the Metro lines operate from 05:00 am to 02:15 am (next day). On Sunday, the Metro operates from 08:00 am to 01:15 am (next day).

The Dubai Tramway will operate from Monday to Saturday from 06:00am to 01:00am (next day). On Sunday, the tram will operate from 09:00 am to 01:00 am (next day).

The Dubai Bus will operate from Monday to Thursday and on Friday, Saturday and Sunday in accordance with the current bus timetable system, which should take into account the demand for services.

As for public parking, the existing system will remain in place until further notice. Parking will be free on Fridays and public holidays.

The new closure times for the floating bridge are from 22:00 on Saturday to 06:00 on Monday morning to allow sufficient time for maritime activities, tourist boats and bridge maintenance work from 2 February 2022.
