DIEZ announces new management team

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Integrated Economic Zone Authority (DIEZ), has appointed a new management team to lead the free zones and DIEZ central offices into a new era of excellence and integration.

DIEZ aims to enhance Dubai’s position as a regional and global investment destination and contribute to the emirate’s strategic priorities through its economic zones, which include Dubai Airport Free Zone, Dubai Silicon Oasis and Dubai CommerCity. In addition, DIEZ aims to stimulate economic growth, contribute to shaping the future economic map of Dubai and create more diverse investment opportunities.

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum stressed that the new appointments to the top management positions of the Authority are in line with the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to develop and strengthen the role of human resources for sustainable growth, business expansion and strengthening the emirate’s position as a global investment hub. He urged them to foster a spirit of teamwork and openness, develop best practices, improve commercial services and solutions and encourage a culture of innovation and proactive thinking, keeping pace with rapid economic development.

Amna Lutah has been appointed CEO of DAFZ to lead and implement the strategic plans in line with the approved structure, guided by its vision, mission and values. In addition, Lutah will lead the Dubai Airport Free Zone executive management team.

Dr Juma Al Matrushi has been appointed CEO of Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO) to oversee the implementation of its strategy in line with the new organisational structure.

Engineer Muammar Al Kathiri has been appointed to the position of director general in the central units. Muammar Al Kathiri has been appointed as the chief engineering and smart city specialist in the Directorate to lead and manage engineering planning and decision-making for strategic planning, design and construction.

To achieve DIEZ’s financial goals, William Chapel will serve as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at DIEZ, where he will be responsible for financial management. He will oversee the strategic financial direction to ensure that strategic business goals are met and that economic returns are improved for all stakeholders.

Youssef Behzad has been appointed Chief Human Resources and Organizational Development Officer at DIEZ to lead and implement an institutional approach in empowering human capital, ensuring the quality of human resources in all government departments and functions. In addition, his responsibilities include providing the means to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of an organisational structure that relies on creative talent to lead operations to achieve the organisation’s goals.

Bader Buhannad will take up the position of Chief Corporate Support Officer at DIEZ. He will manage and lead digital and information technology activities, supply chain management, and provide the necessary leadership to the Integrated Management and Project Management Office functions of the Authority.

The list of appointments also includes Saeed Al Suwaidi as the new head of legal and regulatory affairs at DIEZ and Abdul Rahman Basaid, head of internal audit and enterprise risk management. DIEZ aims to contribute directly to Dubai’s economic growth by providing a successful investment experience for all investors and large companies, as well as providing innovative services and solutions that meet the needs and aspirations of the business community.
