Dubai Municipality opens new Talent Development Centre for human qualifications

Dubai Municipality has announced the launch of a new uniquely designed DMX Talent Development Centre, aimed at qualifying and developing the competencies of staff working in the municipality to support the vision of a ‘leading-edge municipality for a global city’.

Dawoud Al Hajri, director general of Dubai Municipality, said: “The launch of the Talent Development Centre is in line with the fifty principles in support of promoting human capital investment and efforts to develop the education and training sector to set the wheel of development in all sectors and at all levels in motion. It also embodies the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, who said that the UAE is on the verge of major developments and achievements as it enters the next fifty years armed with the energy and minds of its people.”

He added that Dubai Municipality, through its vision to become a leading edge municipality for a global city, is committed to studying and analysing data across all sectors, anticipating the future to develop proactive plans to address any challenges and aligning them with technical developments to further lead at regional and global levels.

The Municipality of Dubai, through DMX, the Talent Development Centre, introduces the latest technology and innovative learning and development tools to train a future-ready workforce as the centre is equipped with the latest technology in smart learning and training.

The centre also has seven training halls, including a hall dedicated to learning with virtual reality technology and a hall designed to train more than 30 trainees, as well as various other halls for conducting all types and forms of innovative development, learning and training, as well as improving quality by allocating a rest area between training and development programmes.

It should be noted that Dubai Municipality’s human resource development strategy focuses on investing optimally in internal human resources specialisation and expertise through the ‘From Your Experience We Learn’ initiative and capitalising on their tacit memory by transferring tacit knowledge to others and sharing it to facilitate the human resource development process.

The new human resource development system has also been leveraged in coordination with the Dubai Digital Authority through the ability to transform typical training programmes into smart programmes through the Smart Learning Management Platform, as well as developing an integrated digital package to welcome a new employee into the Dubai Municipality family.

The trainee journey at Dubai Municipality begins with a smart system that lists the skills to be developed according to the job description and future needs, all the way up to the DMX Talent Development Centre.

Dubai Municipality is also committed to launching a number of nationally approved programmes through the National Skills Centre platform to develop and strengthen its workforce and human resources with highly skilled professionals.
