SEE LV comes to Dubai

Louis Vuitton has brought its travelling exhibition SEE LV to Dubai after stops in Wuhan and Hangzhou in 2020 and 2021. The house chose Dubai for its cosmopolitan character, innovation and diverse culture. The SEE LV exhibition is now open to the public at the Dubai Mall Fountains, where it will remain open until March 7.

At the entrance to SEE LV, visitors are welcomed by a portrait of a young Louis Vuitton created by Turkish media artist Refik Anadol using artificial intelligence. The next room, In Fashion, showcases a collection of men’s and women’s ready-to-wear clothes from the designers’ first and latest collections. The exhibition includes a felted suit from Virgil Abloh’s latest autumn/winter 2022 collection, as well as an 1893 silk visitation dress designed by couturier Charles Frederick Worth two years before his death. The opulent dress is displayed next to a historic 1906 trunk to highlight the house’s long association with fashion.

A wall of Louis Vuitton branded handbags makes up ‘Handbag Stories’ and includes Steamer, Speedy, Noé and Twist as well as the iconic Keepall graffiti created in collaboration with artist Stephen Sprouse.

The final room, the Evolution Gallery, is dedicated to Louis Vuitton’s major contribution to the invention of luggage typologies and offers visitors a journey through the evolution of luggage from the wardrobe luggage of 1925 and the car luggage of the 1920s to the Skateboard luggage, which debuted in 2009. The exhibition also showcases the fascinating evolution of Louis Vuitton furniture.

The exhibition concludes with a monogram projection that wiggles as visitors walk past and a souvenir shop.

The SEE LV exhibition brings together four universes, bringing together contemporary images, historical creations, artistic collaborations and timeless designs, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the world of Louis Vuitton without leaving the city.

Entrance to the SEE LV exhibition is free.
