21st edition of Dubai Derma begins on 27 February

The 21st World Dermatology and Laser Therapy Conference and Exhibition (Dubai Derma 2022), the largest and leading event dedicated to dermatology and aesthetics in the Middle East, North Africa and the Indian subcontinent, will be held at the Dubai World Trade Center from February 27 to March 1.

Under the motto “Shaping the Future of Dermatology and Aesthetics”, the event will provide a platform for industry participants and professionals from around the world to discuss scientific knowledge and explore business opportunities in the sector. Dubai Derma 2022 will attract more than 20,000 visitors from 104 participating countries, with more than 1,200 international products from 300 companies on display. Korea, France, China, Spain, Turkey, Italy and Poland will be well represented at the show.

More than 349 speakers from around the world will share their views in 326 scientific sessions including more than 79 seminars and 90 digital poster presentations by international students. Key topics to be addressed at the event include medical, therapeutic, pediatric, surgical and cosmetic dermatology. Clinical case presentations aimed at deepening the understanding of various new procedures and diagnostic approaches are among the highlights of the event.

Dubai Derma 2022 takes place against the backdrop of Dubai’s emergence as a prominent medical tourism destination, including in the field of dermatology and aesthetic medicine. There have been many new scientific discoveries in this field in recent years, so the global market for skin care products is growing exponentially. By 2025, the global market for skin care products is projected to be around $189 billion.

Dermatological products are a significant growth driver in this sector. Considered a “quality of life” sector, the dermatology market is driven by consumers who want to feel better about their appearance and increase confidence in their personal and professional lives. The largest organ of the human body, the skin is the first to be exposed to conditions both inside and outside the body, both positive and negative. Although skin care products are mostly used by women, there has been a significant growth in the market for men’s products in recent years. A younger population has also contributed to the market value of the sector due to increased demand for products and treatments to treat skin conditions such as acne, black spots, scars, and to acquire a tanned look. Further supporting the growth of the market is the extensive development of skin care treatments and products in recent years, as well as extensive health and beauty awareness campaigns by medical institutions and cosmetic companies.

Dr. Ibrahim Galadari, professor of dermatology and chairman of the Dubai Derma Conference, commented, “This year marks the 21st edition of Dubai Derma, which has evolved into one of the largest dermatology events in the world. We thank INDEX Conferences and Exhibitions for helping to develop this event to its current level. Dubai Derma brings together experts from around the world to share the latest discoveries, scientific information and cutting-edge technology. The event will cover a range of vital topics in the field of dermatology, and we particularly look forward to live demonstrations at the event that will provide specialists with hands-on training. The event has established strong connections with various educational institutions, clinics and companies from around the world. Most doctors in Dubai attend Dubai Derma before receiving their certificates.”

Dr. Abdul Salam Al Madani, executive chairman of Dubai Derma and chairman of INDEX Holding, said: “We are looking forward to the new opportunities and perspectives that Dubai Derma 2022 will shed light on. The event will feature the latest scientific information and innovations in dermatology, skin care and lasers. There will also be a wide range of clinical case presentations that will help professionals gain in-depth knowledge of various procedures and diagnostic techniques.”
