Step Conference kicks off February 23 in Dubai Internet City

Step Conference, the leading technology festival for emerging markets, kicks off February 23 at Dubai Internet City with an eventful program. More than 400 global technology startups and hundreds of international investors will gather at the 10th conference to celebrate a decade of inspiring entrepreneurship, driving innovation and creating new economic value in the region.

The 2022 Step Conference, organized in strategic partnership with Dubai Internet City, the region’s leading technology hub, will focus on hot topics such as Web3, NFTs, blockchain, fintech and more. The list of speakers at the Step Conference includes some of the best in the global industry. Paul Mizener, vice president of global innovation policy and communications at Amazon, and Michelle Arrascaeta, head of brand strategy and collaboration at Polaroid, will give keynote speeches at the event. Eli Habib, founder of music streaming service Anghami, which earlier this month became the first Arab tech company to be listed on the NASDAQ exchange, will also deliver original ideas.

The partnership between Dubai Internet City and Step allows for cutting-edge discussions and industry exposure to a vast community of startups, investors, gas pedals, corporations and government representatives. The Step Conference will cover four key areas, including fintech with a focus on payments, cryptocurrencies and e-commerce; future innovation with a focus on AI, mobility, energy and the cloud; digital with media, marketing and content; and wellness with a deep dive into health and lifestyle technology. Attendees will be able to immerse themselves in the future of technology as startups showcase innovative products and services, as well as look back on the past decade of startup ecosystem development in the region.

Leading startup incubator, in5, also joins Step Conference as a major partner in the conference’s Startup track. The Startup Track explores the full startup landscape through insightful keynotes, panels and debates. Global tech and digital influencers will touch on a range of topics, from success stories to fundraising and investment, and startups can get expert advice in the in5 Mentor Corner.

In5 recently reached a new milestone, with its startups crossing the Dh1.4 billion investment mark, confirming Dubai’s leading position as an attractive destination for talent and entrepreneurship. Direct investment came through venture capital and angel investors.
