WHAT SHE SAID SPEAKER SERIES TAKES PLACE AT W ABU DHABI – YAS ISLAND IN THE SPIRIT OF INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY

W Abu Dhabi – Yas Island is partnering with domestic and women’s brands Achievher, Ketish, Glossy Lounge and Sugargram to host a global What She Said speaker series on March 10, 2022. This year’s theme is “The Voice of Social Media.” It will feature key female leaders who use their social media voice as a global megaphone. The second meeting in this series looks at two sides of social media: on the one hand, social media personalities use the platform as a tool to express and encourage positive attitudes toward their bodies, mental health and self-love; on the other, they fight the negativity directed in their direction for transparency in daily comments, which can often be hurtful and affect mental well-being and careers.

Chaired by Anna Roberts, founder of Achievher, communications coach and award-winning TV and radio host, this women-focused What She Said event will bring together a group of influential ladies under one roof for a dynamic discussion about their social media journeys.

This year’s powerful and progressive discussion panel includes three key women with the power to change lives, including Laura Leonide, plus size model, Danae Mercer, former editor-in-chief of Women’s Health Middle East magazine, and Emaan Abbas, founder of women’s health brand Ketish. These ladies are not self-conscious and inspire women from all walks of life to embrace their idiosyncrasies with confidence. The panelists will lead a series of conversations about individuality, inclusivity and honesty, as well as address issues related to power and social media presence.

“We are very excited to present the second installment of the W Hotels What She Said speaker series at W Abu Dhabi – Yas Island,” said hotel general manager Fayek El Saadani. “Established in 2016, W Hotels offer a complimentary space to discuss the challenges and triumphs of work, love, play and everything in between.  This year, the focus is on social media and how it can be a digital advocate but also be an online bully. Social media has become such an important part of our daily lives, and it will be very interesting to hear different perspectives from these empowered women.”

Yas Island, one of the world’s leading entertainment and lifestyle destinations, is another proud partner of the event and is pleased to support an initiative aimed at empowering women. Yas Island offers vacationers a diverse array of award-winning recreational opportunities, from unique theme parks, world-class shopping and fine dining to the Links golf course, thrilling water and motor sports, and spectacular music, entertainment and family events.

Located in the heart of the island, W Abu Dhabi – Yas Island is a luxurious playground showcasing inspiring architecture that pays homage to the capital’s waterways with shapes of oil drops, fish scales, precious tones and iridescent hues that make every hotel stay a dream – especially when combined with the hotel’s “anything-anytime” attitude that offers guests the ultimate pampering experience.
