Art Dubai 2022’s artistic programme with live events, talks and family workshops

Art Dubai 2022, the leading global platform for art and artists from the Middle East and the Global South, has this year complemented its art program with a series of live events, a diverse and multi-layered program of talks designed for a wide range of interests, and interactive family workshops suitable for all ages. The 15th event takes place March 11-13, 2022 at Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Art Dubai 2022 presents an expanded schedule of educational events and talks, including the largest children’s program to date, developed in partnership with A.R.M. Holding, which now includes more than 5,000 children in 80 schools in Dubai. In addition, the fair has partnered with the Art Writers Agency (AWA), a newly created organization that aims to support the development of journalism and arts writers in the UAE. Art Dubai is among the diverse attractions covered by the #DubaiDestinations initiative, which now focuses on covering the exceptional experiences, events and activities of the current #DubaiArtSeason.

A.R.M. Holding’s children’s program this year includes artist-led workshops for children ages 5 to 17. The program is led by Kenyan artist Cyrus Kabiru (AKKA Project), who will work with participants to collect and recycle everyday materials from their homes and schools, turning them into works of art. During these workshops, Cyrus will invite participants to change their perspectives and reconsider how they see everyday objects and their surroundings. A.R.M. Holding’s first children’s program will be held at Art Dubai, and will be expanded to 80 schools, reaching more than 5,000 children across Dubai, in line with A.R.M. Holding’s long-term commitment to art education and Dubai’s creative economy.

This year’s workshops are divided into three age groups, each with different learning outcomes: ages 5-7, 8-12 and 13-17. Classes will be held Friday, March 11 from 5-6 p.m. and Saturday, March 12 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Art Dubai is held in partnership with A.R.M. Holding. The exhibition is sponsored by Julius Baer, a Swiss wealth management group. The Dubai Arts and Culture Authority (Dubai Culture) is a strategic partner of the fair.
