ATM: Ahmed bin Saeed opens Arabian Travel Market 2022

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Emirates Airlines and Group and Chairman of Dubai World, officially launched Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2022, marking the launch of the 29th edition of the Middle East’s largest travel and tourism exhibition.

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed said that Dubai continues to strengthen its position at the forefront of global tourism and travel recovery by hosting global events that bring together decision makers from across the region and around the world, contributing to the global effort to open new horizons for the growth of the industry. Dubai’s ability to provide a secure environment for both tourism and important global events over the last two years, as well as its success in overcoming the effects of the recent global health crisis, has enabled it to host large numbers of visitors from all over the world.

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed was accompanied at the opening ceremony by His Excellency Helal Saeed Almarri, Director General, Dubai Economic and Tourism Department (DET); Vasyl Zhygalo, Portfolio Director, RX Global; Danielle Curtis, Middle East Exhibition Director, ATM; and many other VIPs who toured the exhibition hall as the four-day event began in Dubai.

Taking place from Monday 9 to Thursday 12 May, this year’s event is more than 85% larger than ATM 2021, with growth in all regions. ATM 2022 will feature 1,500 exhibitors, representatives from 158 global destinations and 20,000 visitors are expected. The live exhibition will be followed by ATM Virtual, which takes place from Tuesday 17 to Wednesday 18 May.

The exhibition is being held at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) in collaboration with DET. ATM 2022’s theme, ‘The Future of International Travel and Tourism’, will be reflected throughout the exhibition. ATM Global Stage and ATM Travel Tech Stage will feature 40 conferences with 150 speakers.

New this year is the ATM Draper-Aladdin Start-up Competition, which has caused a huge stir since its launch. The initiative will see up to 15 travel, tourism and hospitality innovators apply for funding of up to $500,000, not to mention the opportunity to compete for an additional $500,000 investment through the popular television show Meet the Drapers.

ATM 2022 will also feature in-depth buyer forums on India and Saudi Arabia; live interviews with aviation and hospitality experts; debates on the future of sports, urban and responsible tourism; the ITIC-ATM Middle East Tourism Investment Summit; digital influence networks; awards for best booths; and the return of ILTM Arabia with a focus on the lucrative luxury travel market.

For the first time, ARIVALDubai@ATM and the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) will be held live in Dubai after remotely joining ATM 2021.

ATM 2022 is part of Arabian Travel Week, a 10-day festival of travel and tourism events taking place in Dubai.

Those who will be attending ATM in person are encouraged to post using the hashtags #ImGoingtoATM and #ATMDubai.

ATM 2022 is co-hosted by the Dubai World Trade Centre and its strategic partners are the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) as destination partner, Emirates as official aviation partner and Emaar Hospitality Group as official hotel partner.
