‘Tomorrow, Today’ exhibition at the Museum of the Future

The Museum of the Future will host a new ‘Tomorrow, Today’ exhibition. The Museum of the Future and the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) have announced a new partnership to showcase future mobility solutions, from personal jetpacks to self-driving cars.

They have signed a strategic partnership that will showcase some of the most exciting and cutting-edge mobility solutions at the ‘Tomorrow, Today’ exhibition, an ever-evolving showcase of innovation at the Museum of the Future. Visitors will be able to see personal jetpacks, medical drones, food delivery robots, electric bicycles, electric vertical take-off and landing planes and much more.

Among the main exhibits are prototypes of autonomous vehicles using artificial intelligence, machine learning and geospatial data. The exhibition will also showcase new ideas for green, sustainable and environmentally friendly mass transport services from around the world and from research centres around the world.

His Excellency Mattar Mohammed Al Tayer, CEO, Chairman of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) Board of Executive Directors, Commissioner General for Infrastructure, Urban Planning and Welfare in Dubai, said: “The rapid technological and industrial changes brought about by the Fourth Industrial Revolution, especially in the field of autonomous transport, will change the future of mobility, provide new means of mobility and develop existing means of mobility in line with future trends. The demand for mass passenger transport and shared mobility is expected to grow.”

His Excellency Khalfan Belhoul, CEO of the Dubai Future Foundation (DFF), said: “As one of the world’s smartest cities, our strategic partnership with RTA Dubai will accelerate the adoption of next generation mobility solutions and strengthen Dubai’s global position as a hub for new technologies. We are excited to deepen our partnership with the RTA, a true pioneer in the development of integrated transport ecosystems, and look forward to showcasing for the first time in Dubai the exciting technologies that will shape the future of cities and communities around the world.”

At the ‘Tomorrow, Today’ exhibition, RTA Dubai will showcase a dynamic wireless charging system for electric cars and buses on the move using Shaped Magnetic Field In Resonance (SMFIR) technology, which has been tested in Dubai’s Silicon Oasis. This network can be installed under the roads to provide intelligent wireless charging for electric vehicles as they move through the city.

The agreement between the Museum of the Future and the Dubai RTA highlights the museum’s efforts to create an open laboratory to encourage creativity, innovation and the development of ideas to solve problems in healthcare, education, smart cities, energy and transport. Through this strategy, the museum aims to enable people and businesses around the world to design cities of the future and strengthen Dubai’s position as the city of the future.

The ‘Tomorrow, Today’ exhibition is an ever-renewing showcase of innovations that can change our world. Created in collaboration with public and private partners from around the world, the exhibition explores how designers, researchers and corporations are responding to our most pressing challenges today.

The museum, an architectural and engineering masterpiece in the heart of the city of the future, is a fitting location for the ‘Tomorrow, Today’ exhibition. The museum is recognised as a global icon designed to shape a better future for humanity, built on the principles of innovation, creativity, cooperation, communication and openness to new ideas.
