Crown prince meets ‘exemplary’ courier

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, received a Talabat delivery worker at his palace for a role model act.

The Crown Prince had earlier posted a video on social media of a motorbike courier clearing concrete blocks lying on the carriageway and obstructing traffic flow.

Sheikh Hamdan today posted a picture of Abdul Ghafoor Abdul Hakim and praised him for his good deed, calling him a role model. The 27-year-old driver received wide acclaim on social media and the video went viral.

The courier said he was only doing his duty and wanted to keep other road users out of trouble. He also revealed that his family in Pakistan was happy for him and proud of him.

In August 2021, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, posted a video of a rescue of a domestic cat on his social media accounts.

The video shows two residents of the emirate catching a cat in a blanket that jumped off the balcony of a residential building onto a paved road. The incident took place in the Murar area of Deira and the pet was safely rescued.

The four Dubai residents who rescued the pregnant cat have received a hefty reward from the local authorities of AED 50,000 (US$ 13.6 thousand) each. Sheikh Mohammed said he was happy to see good deeds being done in his city.
