Tamkeen Programme launched by RTA

The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the start of the third edition of the Tamkeen (Empowerment) programme, designed to attract fresh Emirati graduates from local and international universities and colleges in various academic occupations.

The programme will enable graduates who have been unemployed for the past three years to gain the skills they need to be job-ready and qualified for RTA jobs once they prove their worth and suitable vacancies become available. Participants can register for the programme through the Tamkeen programme’s online registration QR code.

“This programme aims to maximise the use of graduates’ skills and apply their academic abilities in various sectors and agencies of the RTA to put the skills and knowledge they gained at university into practice.” The Tamkeen programme, which began in January 2022 and will run until the end of this year, focuses on exceptional and high-demand academic and administrative specialisms. These include transport engineering, railway engineering, robotics, infrastructure engineering, mechatronics as well as transport economics and urban planning,” said Yousif Al Redha, CEO of RTA’s Corporate Management Support Services Branch.

“The RTA has set certain conditions for participation in the programme. The candidate must be an Emirati, have completed national service and have a university degree. The candidate must not work for three years after graduation and their specialisation must be relevant to the RTA’s needs,” explained Al Redha.

The launch of the programme is part of RTA’s efforts to implement its strategic goals and objectives, which focus on social responsibility. The company also runs other youth empowerment programmes such as the Talented Youth Mobility Programme, Ajyal and Summer Internships for university students. The aim of these programmes is to provide young people with practical training and professional development opportunities, as well as a chance to attract talented Emirati youth.
