Emirates and DP World extend partnership

DP World Tour and Emirates have signed a partnership extension agreement under which the international airline will remain an official partner of DP World Tour until the end of the 2024 season.

As part of the agreement, Emirates will benefit from prominent branding at 21 DP World Tour events, in the media and on the Tour’s digital platforms, as well as access to the Tour’s premium hospitality services and exclusive Pro-Am terms.  Emirates will also have official tournament partner status at 14 events on the DP World Tour calendar each season. Emirates will continue to partner with the Tour’s Virtual Eye, which is an animated graphical system delivered via live television broadcasts, providing real-time positioning and information on player scores and statistics.  In addition, the new Emirates Fly Better Moments content unit will showcase exciting tournament moments for fans on the Tour’s digital platforms.

Emirates is one of the world’s largest international airlines, flying to more than 130 destinations across six continents via Dubai with its state-of-the-art fleet of Boeing 777 and Airbus A380 aircraft. The partnership between Emirates and DP World Tour dates back more than 30 years, after Emirates became the title partner of the Dubai Desert Classic in 1989. Emirates then partnered the season-ending DP World Tour Championship, Dubai in 2009, before becoming the official tour partner and official airline of the tour in 2014.

Sir Tim Clark, president of Emirates Airline, said: “We are delighted to renew our partnership with DP World Tour. The Tour continues to grow in popularity, attracting top international golfers and giving us a platform to connect with golf fans on a global scale. The DP World Tour championship culminates in Dubai, bringing visitors and the world’s attention to the Emirates’ home city, which has also become one of the world’s leading golf destinations.”

Since 2009, the airline has flown more than 600 professional golfers to Dubai for the season-ending DP World Tour Championship, attracting more than 200,000 golf enthusiasts to watch the exciting tournament.

Guy Kinnings, deputy general manager and group chief commercial officer of the European Tour, added: “Emirates is one of our longest-standing partners and I am delighted that they have decided to extend our partnership until the end of the 2024 season. As an airline connecting the world, they continue to benefit from their brand partnership with a truly global Tour – and our presence continues to expand into new countries each season. We also benefit from Emirates’ extensive expertise in sports partnerships and proven track record in connecting sports fans with their passion.”
