Dubai Women’s Triathlon 2022 winners

Her Excellency Mona Al Marri, Chairperson of the Dubai Women’s Institution Council crowned the winners of the fifth Dubai Women’s Triathlon.

The 2022 Dubai Women’s Triathlon, which brought together women of different nationalities and ages, was organised by the Dubai Sports Council in collaboration with the Dubai Women’s Club. The triathlon is the first of its kind in the region with only women competing. The triathlon is a combination of three disciplines – swimming, running and cycling – over a distance of 40km.

According to Her Excellency Mona Al Marri, the UAE leadership places a high priority on ensuring that women can fulfil their potential in all areas, including sport. This desire for women’s empowerment is deeply rooted in the ethos and values of the country. Under the guidance of the leadership, several initiatives have been taken to enhance their achievements in local, regional and international sports competitions, she added. Al Marri urged all stakeholders to continue working to ensure the widest possible participation of women in tournaments and competitions in all sports disciplines.

Asmaa Al-Hajj took first place in the super sprint category at Dubai Women’s Triathlon, finishing with a time of 59 minutes and 24 seconds, followed by Hawla Al-Muhairi with a time of 1 hour, 3 minutes and 51 seconds. Aissa Al-Shehi took third place with a time of 1 hour 14 minutes and 56 seconds. In the Open category, first place went to Kayleigh Johnson who finished the race with a time of 44 minutes and 12 seconds, second place went to Ireland’s Hazel Mackie with a time of 44 minutes and 31 seconds and third place went to Jade Kramer with a time of 47 minutes. In the Team category, first place went to Dubai Roads and Transport Authority Team 1 with a time of 42 minutes and 34 seconds, second to Dubai Roads and Transport Authority Team 2 with a time of 45 minutes and 22 seconds and third to Abu Dhabi Police with a time of 45 minutes and 24 seconds.

Fatima Al Humairi took first place in the sprint at Dubai Women’s Triathlon with a time of 1 hour 36 minutes and 14 seconds. In the team category, the Abu Dhabi Police team took first place with a time of 1 hour 7 minutes and 26 seconds, while the Petra team took second place with a time of 1 hour 22 minutes 59 seconds. The A&M team took third place with a time of 1 hour 28 minutes and 23 seconds.

In the Olympic distance race, in the women’s category, Hana Al-Nabulsi took first place, finishing the race with a time of 2:46:24 hours. In the open category, Maria Sohovich took first place with a time of 2:15:51, Zanduti was second with a time of 2:22:23 hours and Stephanie Trombetta took third place with a time of 2:24:40 hours.
