Sheikh Zayed Road and downtown Dubai will be transformed into a giant bike track as part of the third edition of the Dubai Ride. The Dubai Ride, presented by DP World in association with RTA, will take place on the morning of Sunday 6 November and will be one of the most anticipated Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC) events for all residents and visitors to the city. The iconic cycling event is non-competitive, free to all and features two different routes running through some of Dubai’s most famous landmarks.

The 12km route will be open to fitness enthusiasts and more experienced cyclists willing to take on this exciting challenge, while the other 4km route will be open to families and outdoor enthusiasts. Dubai Ride also invites determined individuals to take part in either route, and those interested in participating should visit the Dubai Ride website for more information.

The 12km Dubai Ride route will follow Sheikh Zayed Road and will start at 5:00am from five different starting gates located at the Future Museum, Al-Satwa, Coca-Cola Arena, Business Bay and Lower Road Financial Centre. Meanwhile, families with young children are invited to ride the 4km route, which will start at 5:00am at the Dubai Mall and run along Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard and around the Dubai Opera House and Burj Khalifa.

All participants must be able to cycle a minimum distance of 4km and bring their own bike, helmet and water bottle, there will be several water refill stations on the course courtesy of Mai Dubai. Backpacks are not permitted and there will be speed limits on both routes, with marshals looking after the safety and security of participants.

Details of the parking areas will be sent out to all participants prior to the event, depending on their chosen start point. For safety and access to the parking areas, bicycles should be secured to the rear or inside the vehicle. Participants wishing to come to the event by bike are asked to use the bike lanes wherever possible and to comply with RTA rules when riding on public roads.
