DEWA’s Innovation Centre launches a smart app using Metaverse and Augmented Reality

The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority’s (DEWA) Innovation Centre has launched its smart app (MBRSIC) on Android and iOS platforms. Using the app, users can explore sections of the centre and take a virtual tour using augmented reality.

Using Metaverse technology, the Innovation Centre at Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park provides a unique and innovative experience for its visitors, where they can take a virtual tour of the entire Solar Park. There are also innovative shows using drones and hologram technology. Visitors to the centre can also try an autonomous bus ride, as well as take advantage of other innovative technologies.

Visitors to the Innovation Centre can explore the latest innovations in clean energy technology. The exhibition area on the ground floor is dedicated to the history of DEWA, key inventions and innovations in the field of electricity as well as the latest developments in renewable and sustainable energy. There are more than 30 interactive exhibits that introduce visitors to developments in the field of renewable energies. There is also a DEWA museum, desalination plants and a visual space explaining the properties of light and solar radiation. The centre also has an exhibition of the main components of solar photovoltaic cells, solar photovoltaic technology, CSP and a solar power tower. DEWA’s path to renewable energy, Smart DEWA, the use of solar cells in spacecraft and satellites, a model explaining the mechanisms of electric vehicles, a wind turbine and the development of green buildings by DEWA are also demonstrated here.

 The Innovation Centre is open Saturday to visitors from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. Tickets can be purchased online at www.mbrsic.ae or on the Centre’s smart app.
