Young Creatives’ Winter Camp at Al Jalila Cultural Centre
Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) is organising the Young Creatives’ Winter Camp at Al Jalila Children’s Cultural Centre as part of an expressive space that aims to motivate children to create. The camp will feature two weeks of activities aimed at developing children’s skills and honing their creative talents.
This December, the Young Creatives’ Winter Camp will offer young creatives access to a series of engaging and artistic activities in music, art and theatre aimed at sparking their imagination and honing their creative skills.
The Young Creatives’ Winter Camp is for children aged 4 to 12 and will run for a fortnight from December 12 to 23. Children will be able to develop their creative skills in theatre, art and music, and learn about the origins and craftsmanship of crafts.
The winter camp will open its doors to all creative children aged 4 to 6 who want to learn the ins and outs of the performing arts. They will present an integrated show which reflects their ideas, depending on their choices, from theatre to music. They will also be introduced to the art of mosaic making, sand painting, soap making and other crafts, all done in cooperation with the You project.
The Young Creatives’ Winter Camp also aims to attract children aged 7 to 9 through painting workshops which will introduce them to the art of terrazzo (making marble paintings), the art of candle making and the origins of tufting.
There will also be a programme of activities for children aged 10 to 12 in anime art, dots painting, sand painting and canvas bag painting. They will also learn how to make tables, candles and mosaics, among other disciplines.
All art activities and workshops included in the Young Creatives’ Winter Camp take place in a comfortable and safe environment to motivate children to express their creativity and develop their skills under the supervision of a team of experts, artists and specialists. The camp is part of Dubai Culture’s efforts to realize its vision of strengthening the emirate’s position as a global cultural hub, an incubator of creativity and a thriving centre for talent.
