Uptown Dubai to become home to 200 new restaurants and shops
A new retail and restaurant destination will emerge in Dubai – the new Uptown Dubai project in JLT will be home to 200 new shops and catering facilities. The first tower of the project is expected to be completed by the end of 2022.
Uptown Dubai will also be home to Dubai’s first SO/ hotel – renowned for its top restaurants. According to DMCC, the outer façade of the tower is fully completed, thus giving the megaproject its outline. Uptown Tower will be a 10 million square feet residential and corporate centre.
The five-star SO/ Uptown Dubai will have 188 rooms, restaurants, conference facilities, offices and 229 SO/branded residences. The hotel promises to be a new glamorous destination and point of attraction for residents and visitors to the emirate.
Guests will have access to exclusive amenities including a lounge, swimming pool and private fitness centre. The remainder of Uptown Dubai will house some 2,000 residential residences and a unique central entertainment complex with shops and restaurants.
The project’s main catwalk rises 28 metres above the ground and is an area twice the size of New York’s Times Square. Some Uptown Dubai venues are planned to be open 24 hours a day.
Football star Cristiano Ronaldo, tennis star Rafael Nadal and Lakers player Pau Gasol plan to open Tatel and Totó restaurants in Dubai in the third quarter of 2023.
The eateries have already achieved great fame in Madrid thanks to their famous clientele and fantastic food and drink offerings. Leisure Quest, a division of Food Quest, is working with MABEL Hospitality to open the two new establishments.
Tatel will offer Spanish Mediterranean cuisine and an exciting entertainment programme. Its branches are currently open in Ibiza, Beverly Hills and Doha.
Totó will welcome guests with Italian cuisine with dishes prepared according to traditional recipes, as well as a wine collection and live music in the atmosphere of Italian cinema of the 1950s. Totó first opened in Madrid in 2021.
